At the end of each workday, I waited at the curb
at 6th and Spring, patiently. It was feeding time on my ankles for the fleas. The air, thick of body
odors and urine insulated in traffic fumes, was as potent as weed when inevitably inhaled. At rush hours, the pigeons had to be airborne, to get out of
the way.
